Do I need any experience with healing or meditation?
No. Reiki is so simple even children can learn it. If you're open to learning and can place your hands on your body, you can do Reiki.
How is this different from online Reiki courses?
The four initiations—the energetic attunements that activate your ability to channel Reiki—must be done in person by a Reiki Master. Online courses cannot provide authentic initiations. Additionally, hands-on practice with guidance is essential for building confidence and skill.
Can I really heal myself after just 16 hours?
Yes. The initiations open your energy channels, and the hand positions are straightforward. Most students successfully self-treat on Day 1. Your skill deepens with practice, but you'll leave capable of treating yourself and others immediately.
What if I can't attend both days?
Both days are required. The training builds progressively, and you receive initiations across both days. If an emergency arises, you can transfer to a future session with notice.
Will I be able to treat my family members?
Absolutely. That's one of the primary benefits. You'll practice giving full treatments during training and leave confident in treating others.
Is Reiki religious?
No. Reiki is a Japanese healing technique that works with universal life force energy. The Five Precepts provide ethical guidance but aren't religious doctrine-practitioners of all faiths—and none—practice Reiki.
Can I make this a career?
Level 1 certifies you to treat yourself and others, but not to charge for treatments professionally. If you want to practice professionally or teach Reiki, you'll need Level 2 and eventually Master training. Many students simply want to help themselves and family—not everyone pursues professional practice.
What's the difference between this and other Reiki styles?
This is Usui Shiki Ryoho—the original system Mikao Usui developed. Other styles have adapted or added to his method. We teach the traditional hand positions and protocols exactly as they've been passed down through direct lineage.
What if I'm skeptical?
Healthy skepticism is fine. Reiki works whether you "believe" in it or not. The initiations create a physiological response, and the hand positions follow traditional patterns that have worked for a century. Come with curiosity, and judge by your experience.
